Hiking the Valley of Fire (Our Way!) // Chapter 1, Webisode 13

October 26, 2018

We are travelling around in our RV one day and Mother Nature puts out her hand, palm up, and says, “here you go guys, enjoy this!”

Then we drove into The Valley of Fire State Park in Nevada. Wow, wow, wow, is all we could say. The rocks were soooo red and unique and they surrounded us. Even in the Beav we felt small!

Being the adventurous people we are we had to go on a hike and really get to know these rocks! I can already hear what some folks are saying about my hiking skills but you know everybody does it different! Critters are always a concern and I did wear closed toed shoes. I guess I could have used those walking pole things I see experienced hikers using, but honestly that would be just one more thing to get caught up in or hurt someone else with, if I were to go down. Just like skiing, I never could manage the poles then either.

So we did it and survived as well as had a great time. Kory did not melt although he was starving and of course needed a snack.

We filmed it as we went just doing our thing but it was really fun to edit. Enjoy watching this one! Then leave us a comment telling us about your hiking fun or faux pas!

We visited The Valley of Fire State Park in April 2018.

I am a RV lover. All things RV are intriguing to me right down to the little details. I love to travel, especially in the Beaver, and combining our adventures with our reviews really is having my cake and eating it too. We are rvSometimers, meaning that we do things just a little different then most RV vloggers but it just goes to show that anyone can fit into this lifestyle.

    1. A beautiful place for sure! And as usual, well written. As I write this comment I am staring at Humphrey’s Peak here in Flagstaff, Az. We took Penny last year on the dog friendly hike to the summit. Highest she’s ever been. We’ll be hiking tomorrow….with our Leki poles (you must get some!)

      1. Hey Gretty, haha I knew you would see our humour in the poles. When I see myself on film I just have to laugh! Enjoy your hike, I’m sure it will be beautiful and your lungs will be full of fresh air which really is the goal, right? I’m sure Penny enjoyed her opportunity to get out with you guys, give her a scrub from us.

    1. I’ve been to the valley of fire it’s really wild looking

      1. It certainly is. We loved it there and will for sure go back next time we are in the area. It was peaceful and beautiful with great services at the state park. Did you camp there?
