We found so many things we really liked about the Grand Design RVs so we went looking for a good cross section of the product to review.
The Imagine is a lighter weight trailer which allows it to be towed by a mid duty truck. I don’t know a lot about trucks and towing capacity so make sure you check all of that out before you make your purchase, but this type of design does allow folks to get more living space with a smaller and generally less expensive truck.
I love that Grand Design is out there building trailers to meet the space and price levels of many different RVers.
When you reduce weight something has to change and one of the places Grand Design made changes, on the Imagine, is in the walls. They are a little shorter and thinner with a little less R value.
Everything is a trade off and it is up to you which things you are willing to let go of in order to get other things. It is not a right or wrong decision but an individual one based on how you are planning to use your RV and what your priorities are.

We reviewed the Grand Design Imagine while we were visiting Camper Clinic in Rockport, TX in Nov 2018. I bet they would have one for you if you give them a call!

May 18, 2019Hello I found your review to be the best I have seen about the Grand design, I own a 2018 2670MK and I use it a lot I live in southern Ca, retired serviceman, I camp a lot on the beach, dessert, mountains, I have found Several things of my concern with my trailer that I have fixed myself because to have warranty cover it I not have my trailer back for two months. So one concern is I have had electric issues with the outside lights stop working I had to replace fuses #2 that are not easy to find so get extras, Two the GFCI always trip so I found the panel had loss wires on the neutral side. The celling fan over the kitchen sink stop working had to replace that. The shelve in cabinet under the refrigerator had no back support under shelve so after placing pans and things, it sank in the back so I had to remove and place a wood support for shelve and it works fine now. The outside kitchen refrigerator only works when your plug in to a service. so I placed solar panels on the roof and it runs the refrigerator when I am on the road to get to cold things not have to go into trailer and I can switch to service when i am camping. The bedroom TV cable outlet only go’s to the TV cable outlet located in the the forward storage area by your tower unit ” freshwater, power shout off, outlet. So when you place a TV in the room , So I ran a cable from tower under trailer to the Maine Tv in living room area and placed a splicer in works great and each TV can watch different channels also. All and ALL I made a good choice and really enjoy my grand design.

May 19, 2019Hey there, It does seem that all rvs have a certain amount of things that need work, even when they are new unfortunately, and I just can’t figure out why it takes so long to get warranty work done. But it is great that you are able to do a lot of this work yourself, a handyman you obviously are! Sounds like you spend a lot of time in your trailer at great places and I bet you have a lot of fun with some incredible views. Thanks for commenting.

May 19, 2019Wow! That looks like a really nice beach. It’s a Marine Corps park right, so does that mean that us Canadians can’t come? 🙂 I bet it will be perfect in June and July. We won’t be back in Ca for quite some time but we do love it there. Enjoy it and let us know how it goes.
