One of the things we love about being rvSometimers is that we meet so many different people and we have the freedom to meet up with them again in different places.
We love to be on the move and we love to play Pickleball, so wherever we go we find new people to play with and these people often turn into real friends that we see again and again.
As you have probably heard us say before, we are not Snowbirds, but those folks are soooo fun that we can’t help but hang with them. So in this webisode we head down to Mesa, AZ to stay in a Snowbird Paradise Resort called Mesa Regal RV Resort. There are plenty of these resorts in Mesa but this one is particularly nice and super fun and it happens to be where our friends go. So anytime we are in the area we go and spend a week or two. We brush up on our Pickleball skills, eat, drink, socialize, bike and whatever else we want to do, which in this webisode turns out to be a little rv maintenance.
We also went to Filly’s Roadhouse, which is actually in Apache Junction, and is a nice spot to get the “cowboy feel” while having some great chicken wings, they seem like they must have come from a Canadian Turkey, they are so big. The live music and impressive dancers are fun to watch. You can feel free to join in if you want but Kory and I just never seemed to get into sync with one another on that “2 step” thing, we would probably end up tripping someone or each other so we just prefer to know our limits and play with in them and stay off of the dance floor! Anyways there is horses, cowboys, food, drinks and music. What a great way to spend an Arizona afternoon with friends.
Another new thing we did in Mesa this trip was to go to Organ Stop Pizza. What’s that you ask? Well it’s a pizza joint, a huge pizza joint, that has this awesome live pipe organ player. Imagine going into one of those ancient cathedral churches where there is guy somewhere pumping organ music throughout the entire place, loud and dramatic. OK this is it except you can sit around have pizza and listen to this guy play anything from the National Anthem to the Rocky theme song, you can even make requests. Here is a link to some interesting facts about the place and the organ.
Anyways, as always, great times were had in Mesa and we will definitely go back again.
